TomTom XL 325S 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Gray)

Product Review

this was my initial unit I had ever gotten. it did not take long to know it, and yet there is certainly still locations that I haven't touched on yet. it either is proper on the button using the address. or some location quite close. give or take a property or two. I drive a shuttle van, so getting close is greater. use daily. and had down loaded the Homer Simpson voice that keeps the riders entertained. for the 100.00 bucks, it is nicely worth the cost, and would do it once again if this one came up missing. it really is extremely mobile with a three hour battery once it's unhooked from the van. and the touch screen is quite handy. takes only a few seconds to set up the addresses, and your great to go. A+ (More...)

Navigon 2100 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

Product Review

I recently returned a new Magellan Maestro 3140 GPS unit that did not have visitors information as I decided that I needed the traffic function. I was going to purchase another Magellan product but on a whim I went to Staples early on Black Friday and I managed to purchase a Navigon 2100T for $99. For a device with text to speech and lifetime visitors this can be a fantastic price. I've been testing this Navigon device for the past few days to see if I need to preserve it or if I will eliminate it and get the Magellan I was intending to purchase. I have decreased my experiences into the following Pros and Cons. This can be needless to say entirely subjective. (More Detail...)

Garmin nüvi 1260/1260T 3.5-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic

Product Review

Pros: Small size, good text-to-speech, SD mapcard, ease-of-use, bright display, great suction cup mount, wonderful satellite efficiency, decent maps (so far), clear and loud speaker Cons: No prepare route, restricted alternative route choices, no USB-to-miniUSB cable for computer hookup I bought this GPS for a planned trip to France, the smaller size (fits better in my pocket) and text-to-speech feature, in addition to SD mapcard capability had been my factors. I've had the Nuvi 1200 for 3 days as well as the adjustment from Tomtom think to Nuvi feel has been reasonably painless. The suction cup mount (with its lever application) is a definite upgrade from the Tomtom. Also the auto detection for day/night mode is nice. Satellite efficiency seems even better than the Tomtom, and Tomtom has fantastic reception. The map screen is bright and uncluttered, my wife says it is noticeably sharper. So far the maps appear to be comprehensive, won't genuinely know till I use the Nuvi much more. (Review More...)

Garmin nüvi 765/765T 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic

Product Review

This Nuvi does many points very well, and I've however to discover any serious shortcomings. My thoughts: Navigation: Excellent, as is typical with Garmin units. On a couple of occasions the voice (proper now I'm making use of Australian Karen) told me my destination was on the wrong side of the street. Map: The map is clear, the refresh rate is quickly, and all of the appropriate data is supplied on-screen, such as details for upcoming turns and junctions, speed limit, and visitors alerts. It is annoying that I cannot decide on to switch the display of my present speed to some other piece of information. I already have a speedometer. The 3D buildings function seems fairly gimmicky, and is implemented sporadically, even in downtown Boston. When there is certainly coverage, most buildings are monochromatic blocks, and not the photo-realistic buildings observed in screenshots. (Read More...)

TomTom ONE XL-S 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator

Product Review

I've this and employed side by side with a Garmin 200 W for a number of weeks before returning the Garmin. Overall this is an excellent product but some annoying bugs keep it from becoming great...here are the pros and cons Pros It finds the satellites swiftly and keeps the signal. The garmin took 2-3 minutes almost each time from a power up start (this was the deal killer) The user interface is nicer and has a lot far more alternatives than the garmin. The POI database (like the POI categories it really has - it really is missing several significant US retail chains - see below) is far more as much as date than the Garmin I bought at identical time. Enables you to set the keyboard to QWERTY mode which the Garmin didn't. cons The graphics are a bit grainy compared to the garmin The bluetooth is useless, works only for information transmission/reception and that too with quite limited number of phones. No, you can't use it as a handsfree. (More...)
